Tony's next challenge will be the Surgeres 48 hour race in France May 16-18th.

Surgeres is an invite only for the top 12 men and 12 women at 48 hours in the world and considered by many to be the World Championships for 48 hours. It is a Road track.(301 mts.) There will be updates during the race from their site which is linked below. We hope to have his progress updated on this site below

LATEST UPDATE ON TONY'S PROGRESS IN SURGERES....

After 7 hours, Tony has 72.382km on the board and is in seventh place. A nice controlled start and only seven kms behind the leader.

After 14 hours, Tony has 136km and has moved into forth place.  In front of him are three Japanese runners. 

After19 hours, Tony has 173.113km and is currently in fifth position.

There seem to have been some injury problems and I would say that Tony has been walking for the past ten hours. At the 30 hour mark he has 218.623km.

 Tony ( 1 ) followed by Yiannis Kouros  (16) in Brno 2008. Yiannis holder of more than 160 overall and age group world records won in 408.010km.

Last year Tony broke the world record for 48 hours in Brno with 426.178km (264.81465 miles).This year he had to drop out due to an ankle injury and was disappointed not to be able to challenge the Greek ultra running legend who has dominated the sport for almost 25 years.Tony was wearing a black armband as a mark of respect to his step-father,John Foley who died just before the race.

Tony won in Arizona in Across The Years, a 72 hour race. He was second last year, and went one better this year. Check RACE REPORTS to read  the race report.
